She was a Substitute Professor in the Defence and International Strategic Management (UFRJ) course between 2013 and 2014. In 2014, she completed a PhD in the Inter-American Defence College of the OEA (Organization of American States), with emphasis on hemispheric security studies and organizational models of defence. Currently, she is a researcher in the Postgraduate Programme in Military Studies (PPGCM - Post-Graduate Programme in Materials Science / ECEME - Brazilian Army Command and General Staff College), where she carries out the postdoctoral training. Professor Carlos Frederico de Souza Coelho holds a degree in Juridical and Social Sciences from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (2002); Master in International and European Relations - Linkoping Universitet (2006); PhD in Political Science from the Institute of Social and Political Studies - IESP / UERJ (2014). Professor of the Postgraduate Programme in Military Sciences of the Meira Mattos Institute / ECEME and of the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, he is also a researcher at the Military Observatory of Praia Vermelha, where he studies the subject of public security, especially with regard to employment of the Armed Forces in Law and Order Assurance Operations and in subsidiary actions. He teaches the discipline of Law, International Relations and Armed Conflicts..

Karina Furtado Rodrigues is a professor at the Meira Mattos Institute, at the Army's Command and Staff College, provided by the Getúlio Vargas Foundation. PhD and Master by EBAPE / FGV, she is also a researcher at the Praia Vermelha Military Observatory in the Public Security area and in the SOCIUS group at FACC / UFJF. She has worked as a researcher in the FGV Rio Public Transparency Programme and in the Center for Technology and Society (CTS) of the Law School of FGV (Getúlio Vargas Foundation) Rio. Between 2015 and 2016 she was a visiting researcher at the University of California - San Diego for the Sandwich Programme Abroad PDSE / CAPES) and also at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas, in Mexico City. Previously, she worked as a joint project consultant for the National Security Archive (George Washington University) and the Open Society Justice Initiative.

She was a research associate at the Institute of International Relations (IREL) of the University of Brasília (UnB), where she undertook a postdoctoral internship in 2015 on the decision-making process in Defence in Brazil. She was a research assistant at the South American Political Observatory of the Institute of Social and Political Studies (OPSA / IESP), where she developed studies on the peace process and armed conflict in Colombia (2005-2007). She was co-coordinator of the International Relations course at La Salle - Institutes Superior (2008-2010). Areas of interest: National defence as public policy, decision-making in defence, science and technology, Brazilian foreign policy, post-conflict peace and Colombia process, qualitative methodology in social sciences, international relations theories with emphasis on political realism. Rubens de Siqueira Duarte is a professor of the Military Science Graduate Programme (PPGCM) of the Meira Mattos Institute (IMM), within the scope of the Army High Command and Staff College (ECEME). He is the executive coordinator of the World Policy Analysis Laboratory (LABMUNDO) and director of LABMUNDO's Cartography Workshop. Among his publications are several scientific articles, besides the Atlas of Brazilian Foreign Policy and the Atlas of Brazilian Defence Policy. He holds a PhD in Political Science and International Studies from the University of Birmingham (UK), a master's degree in Political Science from the Institute of Social and Political Studies of the State University of Rio de Janeiro (IESP-UERJ), a bachelor's degree in International Relations from the Pontifical University Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio) and holds a bachelor's degree in Law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), as well as postdoctoral studies at the Institute of Social and Political Studies of the State University of Rio de Janeiro ( IESP-UERJ). He has experience in the areas of International Cooperation for Development, South-South Cooperation, External Policy Analysis, as well as International Defence and Security.

Octavio Amorim Neto é professor titular e pesquisador da Escola Brasileira de Administração Pública e de Empresas da Fundação Getulio Vargas (EBAPE/FGV-RJ) e professor da Escola de Comando e Estado-Maior do Exército (ECEME). Cientista político de formação, tem doutorado pela Universidade da Califórnia em San Diego (UCSD, EUA) e mestrado pelo Instituto Universitário de Pesquisas do Rio de Janeiro (IUPERJ).
Integrou os quadros da Escola de Pós-Graduação de Economia, da Fundação Getulio Vargas (EPGE/FGV-RJ) em 2002-2011 e do IUPERJ, em 1998-2001. Lecionou cursos de média ou curta duração no Institut d' Études Politiques de Lille (França) em 2001, no Instituto de Ciência Política, em Montevidéu, Uruguai, em 2010, e no Instituto de Ciências Sociais (ICS), da Universidade de Lisboa, em 2016. Foi também pesquisador-visitante da Universidade de Salamanca (Espanha) em 2013, do ICS em 2006 e 2017-2018 e do Instituto de Estudios Superiores de Administración (IESA), em Caracas, em 1995-1996.
Com quatro livros publicados e artigos nas principais revistas de ciências políticas nacionais e internacionais (ex: Revista Dados, Opinião Pública, American Journal of Political Science, World Politics, Comparative Political Studies, British Journal of Political Science, European Journal of Political Research, Latin American Politics and Society, Party Politics).

Paulo César Pellanda received the B.Sc. degree from the Federal University of Technology-Paraná (UTFPR), Curitiba, Brazil, in 1985, the M.Sc. degree from the Military Institute of Engineering (IME), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1993, both in Electrical Engineering, and the Ph.D. degree in automatic control from École Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace (ENSAE), Toulouse France, in 2001. He received the 2003 CNRS/EEA Best Thesis Prize in Automatic Control (France). Prof. Pellanda joined the Electrical Engineering Department of IME in 1994, where he was the Head of the Department from 2005 to 2006 and the Head of the Defence Engineering Graduate Program from 2006 to 2007. He is currently an Associate Professor. He has been teaching in the areas of circuit analysis, power systems control and control systems, and his research interests include robust optimal control, parameter robust control, linear parameter varying control and control applications in aerospace, flexible structures and power system fields. He has also worked in the field of innovation management not only through studies and research and by advising theses and dissertations, but also by coordinating the implementation of the Technological-Based Business Incubator in the Area of Security and Defence and the Graduation Program in Defence Engineering at IME, which seek to bring an environment of innovation to academy and to scientific research.

Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from the Technological Institute of Aeronautics (1974), Master in Applied Mathematics from the Institute of Pure and Applied Mathematics (1977) and PhD in Statistics from the Statistics Department of Princeton University (1981). He is currently a Researcher/Professor at EBAPE/FGV-RJ and technically responsible for ENADE's technical reports with INEP through the Cesgranrio Foundation. He has experience in the area of Population and Public Policies, with an emphasis on Social Security and Education, working mainly on the following topics: databases for public policies, educational assessment, gender/race differentials, health conditions, demography (statistical modeling) and mortality.

Graduate in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (2004), Master in International Relations from the University of Brasília (2010) and Doctor in Social Sciences from the University of Brasília (2017). Professor at the Postgraduate Program in Military Sciences at the Army Command and General Staff College (ECEME) and Researcher at the Military Observatory of Praia Vermelha in the areas of Population Movements.
